NEWS IN BRIEF
• Neon Raptor have collaborated with Emperor’s Brewery on Defeat the Rancor, a 13% ABV maple pecan Danish imperial stout. “It’s sticky, thick, rich, and a little scary,” say the brewers.
• Track have collaborated for a second time with Helsinki-based Factory Brewing, this time on Forged, a 6.5% ABV IPA hopped with Motueka and Citra. Expect a twist of candied lemons and lime creamsicles
• Zing (5.6% ABV) is described by Camden Town as a West Coast pilsner. It’s cold and crispy like a regular pilsner, but with a smack of old school and modern citrusy American hops.
• I Float Down the Liffey (5.2% ABV) is new from Pomona Island. It’s a strawberry, kiwi, and lime gose.
• There’s a new brew of Stancill’s 4.1% ABV pale Cashmere, but this time the beer features experimental hop CF161 from Charles Faram. “We’re getting lemongrass aromas,” says the brewer.
• Premium French brand, SASSY Cider, is now available to buy in selected Waitrose stores. Its Brut Cider and Rosé Cider are on shelves after In Good Company became the chosen UK distributor.
• No Return (5% ABV), described as a Cryo IPA, is the second in Bristol Beer Factory’s new Amplify series. With a mango aroma, the cryo version of hop HBC 630 brings complex sweet berries to the mix, working with citrus hops Nectaron and Citra.
• Berry Crumble is a new 5.5% ABV pastry sour from Double-Barrelled. It uses heaps of real raspberries and blackberries, vanilla for extra sweetness, and lactose.
• King at Arms (4.2% ABV) is a new seasonal session IPA from Oakham. It is hopped with US big hitters Amarillo, Chinook, and Simcoe, rising UK hop star Jester, and experimental UK variety CF247. Expect orange and lemon notes, hints of tropical fruit, spice, and pine resin, leading to, grapefruit bitterness.
• Wiper and True have collaborated with DEYA on Tiptoes, a 1.2% ABV IPA. The low-alcohol brew is packed with El Dorado, Citra, and Strata hops.
• UnBarred has collaborated with Brighton bar Cut Your Wolf Loose on Whisky Sour (8% ABV), a Berliner weisse inspired by the cocktail of the same name. There are lots of lemons involved, while the whisky barrel notes come from Cameronbridge single grain Scotch.
• Brew Toon has two new releases. Tanfield Export is a 5% ABV 80 shilling-style Scottish ale, making use of a variety of roasted malts. Squashy is a 5% ABV raspberry vanilla sour featuring “mega amounts” of fresh raspberry puree and sweet vanilla lactose.
• West Coast Keller (5% ABV) is new from Newbarns Brewery. Inspired by lager brewing contemporaries on the West Coast of the US, it’s super hop-forward, aromatic, and modern take on the kellerbiers of Europe.
